September WWDC for Apple
Apple is gearing up for it’s next big conference, WWDC, World Wide Developers Conference in September, maybe the 2nd week.
I know I’m really excited to see all the new devices and software coming out! I won’t be buying this year as I bought last year for a “big” birthday! I’ll be reviewing information for you here and taking all your questions.
This is the perfect time to starting asking questions because you may get a new device or want to know something about the new software. So don’t be shy! Click on that Ask A Question tab above!
What Does This Mean for You?
First, if you are looking to buy new Apple devices you should wait! Two reasons:
- Most new devices with updated software will be availabile in 2-3 weeks.
- If you know you don’t want the “newest”, then wait until the new ones are announced. The previous versions of whatever you are buying will most likely be on sale or deeply discounted in the next few days/weeks.
Where to Find Discounts?
Thrifter is a website that you can sign up for to get notifications of new, lower prices on a lot of things in the technology world, but also on tons of other things. But specifically Apple related items will be announced soon. I just received notification on August 24th, that during 8/24-8/26 the Apple Watch Series 3 was $100 off at Macy’s! But it was only for a couple days and you have to either be searching all the time or sign up at websites for notifications.
There are more websites than Thrifter but it’s kind of my go to when it’s a month or so prior to Apple events. Many stores like Target will start reducing prices or giving you gift cards when you purchase an Apple device because they want to clear their stock for the new items.
With the new event coming soon, I’m going to post a list of common terms used by Apple and others who write about Apple devices. So when you go to read another article, you will feel comfortable with the terminology. That will be tomorrow.
Update: staring next week I’ll be posting 3-4 times a week instead of daily. I’m starting a new job and will be training a new person for my previous job. Plus I’ll be going to classes. I will still be posting tips and keeping you informed about the Apple event coming in a couple weeks. If I hear a big announcement from Apple, I’ll definitely post that for the next morning.
If you have a question, please don’t hesitate to ask, that’s why I write my blog. No question is silly and I’ll do everything I can to help you or find the answer for you!
Keep stopping by and look for tomorrow’s post! Share with your friends and family on social media or by email!
