Using Apple TV App
Have you ever discussed favorite shows, but the other person didn’t tell you what channel or streaming service where you can watch the show? Here’s a great solution.
Best kept secret is you don’t need an Apple TV streaming device to use the app! The app is already installed on your phone. If you are a cord cutter (cable TV), this app will help you too. You’ll find which streaming service to watch your favorite show on or help you find a new show to stream.
In the photos below, the show being searched is The Rookie.
How Does it Work?
Search in your apps installed already on your phone by pulling down on your screen for the search bar. Type in Apple TV. The icon looks like the first photo in this post.
Type in the show title in the the search bar of the app. Click on the show you are searching when the show’s name appears.
Click on the blue circle with the 3 dots. This will give you the option to open up where the show will be streaming. You can also look at the show description and a list of episodes here.
Click on the “carrot” to the right of “Open In” to show the list of streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. where your show will be streaming.
As you can see below, The Rookie is streaming in Hulu, iTunes, ABC, or Playstation Vue. If you subscribe to any of these streaming services or want to buy the episode/season on iTunes, you can!
