3 Tips for Amazing Photos on iPhone

The majority of people who own a cell phone take the majority of their photos on their phone.  Here are 5 tips to help you!

Nature Tip

Find your favorite spot with that amazing view and take a lot of photos. Take different angles, get down on the ground, if possible, and shoot up toward the sky.  Take some photos at different times of the day too.

Once you decide which angels you like, go back when the season changes and take them again.  You’ll get a totally different perspective.  Then create a photo collage of the four seasons and frame them to use at home or work.

Pet Tip

Pets can be a challenge since they don’t often hold still long enough to focus and get the shot.  Especially challenging are pets that are dark colors.

The darker the color of pet, the more natural light you’ll need for the best shot.  Open your curtains or go outside if that’s an option.

Don’t use the flash on your camera as it will change the color and give your pet weird eyes.  Try this trick, tap and hold down the “button” to take the photo.  You’ll here the sound of multiple photos being taken.  This is the burst option.  Even though your pet is moving, you will get one or two photos you like.  Keep playing around with this feature until you feel comfortable.  Let them run around outside and have a play session.  You’ll get lots of photos you’ll love.

Close Up=Macro Tip

You know I had to use an apple right?🍎 The best way to get a close up is to get closer!  Do not use the zoom 2x option you see on the screen unless you really have to use it.  Why? Because if you enlarge the photo it will be out of focus.  ”

Get as close up as you can and then take your shot.  Say your flowers are blooming and you want to create a photo collage of the different stages of the flower blooming.  Get close up and take your shot.  You then can use the pinch with two fingers” mode and zoom out the photo in the edit feature.  There are also apps like Camera+ that include a macro feature.  Get creative with this feature.  Even patterns on wood or brick get very interesting when you use macro mode.

  1. Thanks for the great tips, Debbie. I only use my iPhone to take photos. However, I’ve no idea about a lot of the features I can use to take them. Here’s my favourite photo I’ve taken on my iPhone.
