Have you wondered why your battery runs out earlier some days than others? Now you can see what apps you are using the most and how they are draining your battery power. How to Check Your Battery Health and Usage What is battery health?  When you look at this setting, you’ll see maximum capacity that your battery is able to charge.  This is especially helpful when you have an older phone.  If you are only able to charge up to 50% capacity, the Peak Performance Capability will most likely recommend when or if to change your battery. First, you’ll … Continue reading Battery Checks

iPhone and iPad Charging Issues

Have you been having issues charging since you updated to iOS 12?  There will be a fix coming from Apple soon.  Not sure of a specific date, but I’ll keep you posted. Charging Issues There have been enough people with charging issues that Apple is working on a fix in the next iOS update.  The issues have varied and seem to be hit and miss with other users.  I haven’t experienced any of these issues myself. Some people reported they plugged the charging cable into the phone and wall, but the charging would not start until they tapped and “woke … Continue reading iPhone and iPad Charging Issues

Help-Need Your Input!

Would You Help A Blogger Out? I really need your help!  Most of the posts I write about are typically based on iPhone 6, 7, and 8.  Any S or plus version.   The Apple Watch posts have been based on the series 0, 1, and 2.  Recently, I’ve been posting about the new Apple Watch 4 and the new software iOS 12. Apple’s Event

Wow! I was only able to watch the Apple Watch 4 presentation and I fell in love with the watch all over again! The addition of Fall detection and ability to record an EKG was way more than I expected.  Plus the watch function is FDA approved!  That’s a huge accomplishment for Apple.  This will be an amazing tool for patients to keep their physicians informed.  I hate when you’ve been sick and your symptoms disappear the morning of your appointment! Below is a link that has lots of information shown during the event, as well as stories they … Continue reading Apple’s Event

Tomorrow is the Day!

Lots of rumors going around and “leaks” of what’s coming from Apple tomorrow.  My excitement is getting the best of me!  📱👩🏻‍💻⌚️🖥💻 However, I’ve learned not to believe it until I see it.  If you would like to listen to the event, there are multiple ways. If you are on Twitter, search for Apple’s verified account and they will post a link there for you to click that you “like” the tweet and they’ll send you a link.  Typically so many people are logging in, I usually have a couple alternatives.  You can do a Google search, how to watch … Continue reading Tomorrow is the Day!

How To Use the Microphone To use the microphone when searching the internet: Tap on Safari to open a new web search Tap on the microphone as pointed out with the red arrow Next screen is what you’ll see once you tap on … Continue reading Try Talking, Not Typing

Do You Hate Ads? Turn Them Off!

Annoying Ads Have you ever searched for a specific pair of shoes on Amazon and the next few days you see several ads on Facebook for the same or similar shoes?  I hate when that happens!😡  This is referred to as “cross over tracking” of your search history.  So whatever you search can be linked into another app like Facebook or Twitter to show you ads for similar items.  Do you know how many “new animal product” ads pop up because I’ve watched 100’s of cat videos?  😹😹😹 Reduce/Stop Ads This is something I did when I first got my … Continue reading Do You Hate Ads? Fun Photo Tip-Do Your Photos Move?

Apple calls this “Portrait Orientation”.  I call it very annoying!😡  Today we solve this problem! Portrait Orientation: Easy Way to Lock the Photo What a mouthful to say, “Do you have Portrait Orientation lock on?”  Huh??? Looking For Photos in Text Messages?

Hope you had a chance to read the previous post about searching for a name or a word in a text message.  If not, here is the link Where’s That Text Message? Today’s post is about helping you find that one photo you’ve been looking for in your text messages. Photos in Text Messages This feature shows images per text message, not all the images from all text messages at one time. Do you prefer to use the standard 12 hour time display or military time?  Did you know you have the option to change this setting on your iPhone or iPad? It’s quick and easy to make the change.  It’s an option I hadn’t thought of because I don’t use military time.  However, since we are close to an Airforce base, those using Apple devices might like to know it’s an option to see the time displayed in military time. How to Change the Time Setting Tap on Settings Touch the screen and pull the menu down (if you don’t see … Continue reading Hey, Do You Know the Time?

Do You Know How to Hide and Password Protect Photos?

Thanks Christine for a great question! I received an excellent question from Christine, a new Apple user, and wanted to share the answer with you today.  Christine asked, how can I hide and password protect photos?  I took photos of my ID so I always have them with me even when not carrying a purse. I think it’s a great idea for anyone!  How many times have you heard someone say, oh I left my wallet at home and don’t have my driver’s license?  My son does it often.  If you’re traveling and lose your purse or wallet or your … Continue reading Do You Know How to Hide and Password Protect Photos?
