How to Use Apple Pay

Why Use Apple Pay? I’ll start off by saying using Apple Pay, in my opinion, is an awesome feature on iPhones, Macs, and Apple Watch. I use Apple Pay regularly. It’s convenient and more secure.  Once you add your cards, you’ll find them in your “Wallet” app. Many people don’t like to add credit cards to their devices, but in my opinion, this one is the best options to avoid having your credit card number stolen.  I’m only writing this post to make you aware of options available to use on your device. Apple Pay can be used in many … Continue reading How to Use Apple Pay

3 Easy Tips Using Siri

Hey Siri, Turn On the Flashlight! Yes, you can have Siri turn on or off your flashlight on your iPhone.  One of the most recent things I’ve found that Siri can do for me.  Siri has gotten faster and more fun to use. You can use even more complex statements like, text mom I’ll be over around 9 tonight.  Or call mom on speaker! You can use Siri to set alarms, appointments, even reminders, “remind me to get gas when I leave work”.  How cool is that?  Here’s a previous post on using location based reminders you might like as … Continue reading 3 Easy Tips Using Siri

New Apple Watch 5.1.1 Update

Old Update Pulled In October, Apple pulled the 5.1 update because it was “bricking” watches. Bricking means your watch (can actually happen to any device) just stops working in the process of updating.  It’s something only the Apple Store can resolve for you, which usually means they replace the device.  Here’s the previous post on the 5.1 update Do Not Update Apple Watch New Update Available The new 5.1.1 update is ready and I updated last week!  I searched and didn’t find any issues that were being reported.  There were several bug fixes and the Walkie Talkie app has been tweaked … Continue reading New Apple Watch 5.1.1 Update

Alarm Clock and Siri

Quick Tip Have you used Siri to set up an alarm? It’s quick and easy. There are several ways to activate Siri, based on your phone and settings. Using Siri is fun and easy to do. You can say “Hey Siri, set an alarm for 7pm to check the dryer”. Then you go about your business, alarm goes off at 7pm, and you think why did I set that alarm? 😂 Siri saves the day by adding your “alarm title” when you set the alarm. Brilliant!! Thanks for stopping by today. Remember to share this post, and the website, with … Continue reading Alarm Clock and Siri

As of today, it seems the internet has calmed down about the iOS 12.1 update.   I’ll be updating tomorrow while I’m at work so I’ll have a phone if needed.  That’s right, I don’t have a home phone!  Seems strange to me even 5 years later.  I remember using a phone on the wall with a “party line”!  Let me know if you remember this! Are You Ready to Update? The majority of iPhone users, back to an iPhone 5, will see benefits from updating.  There are several fun things and new functions that will be available in this … Continue reading iPhone Updates 12.1 Revisited

Quick Tip-Save Website on Home Screen

Not sure why I didn’t post this a long time ago!  Do you have a website you visit often (like this one🤷🏻‍♀️) or maybe a store that you like to use their website not use an app? Alert: Issues with 12.1 Update Use Caution

Many articles are being shared about serious and not so serious issues with the current update of 12.1 for iPhones and iPads.  Some are as serious as people being able to hack your phone just by a phone call.  I haven’t confirmed this source, but wanted to make you aware.  If you want to read more about this you can start here iOS 12.1 Problems or iMore.com is also another good source.  Remember to use Reader View Stop Website Frustration with Reader View to stop all the ads from showing. Do Not Update Apple Watch

Apple has pulled the Watch OS 5.1 update. It is “bricking”, which means the watch will not work at all. You may have an update pending, but I would let it sit there and not update. This is just a quick post after seeing this on Twitter this morning. For more information, you can search the internet to see what is being said about the update. Have a great day! New in iOS 12-Measure App

If you’ve ever needed a measurement of something, now you have it in your hand! In iOS 12, a new Measure app is ready and waiting for you to start measuring. How to Measure First, let me clarify this is not an exact measurement you would use to measure and cut something.  Unless you’re looking for an “approximate” fit. 😂  However, you could use this to see if a new table will fit in an area in your home.  You could even use it to measure the kids and have a fun way to show them how they have grown! … Continue reading New in iOS 12-Measure App

Best Tip Using Alarm Clock

Do you use Apple’s “Clock” app on your phone as your alarm clock?  Seems like the majority use the Alarm clock function most every day.  More importantly, do you use the snooze function? Snooze or Not to Snooze? Snooze on Apple’s “Clock” app is set to go off every 9 minutes.  I don’t use the snooze feature in the morning often.  If I need a little more time before getting up, I just set another alarm based on the current time and where I have to be in that morning. Maybe it’s a control issue? 😂 Alarm Settings The first … Continue reading Best Tip Using Alarm Clock
