How to Use Apple Pay

Why Use Apple Pay? I’ll start off by saying using Apple Pay, in my opinion, is an awesome feature on iPhones, Macs, and Apple Watch. I use Apple Pay regularly. It’s convenient and more secure.  Once you add your cards, you’ll find them in your “Wallet” app. Many people don’t like to add credit cards to their devices, but in my opinion, this one is the best options to avoid having your credit card number stolen.  I’m only writing this post to make you aware of options available to use on your device. Apple Pay can be used in many … Continue reading How to Use Apple Pay

3 Easy Tips Using Siri

Hey Siri, Turn On the Flashlight! Yes, you can have Siri turn on or off your flashlight on your iPhone.  One of the most recent things I’ve found that Siri can do for me.  Siri has gotten faster and more fun to use. You can use even more complex statements like, text mom I’ll be over around 9 tonight.  Or call mom on speaker! You can use Siri to set alarms, appointments, even reminders, “remind me to get gas when I leave work”.  How cool is that?  Here’s a previous post on using location based reminders you might like as … Continue reading 3 Easy Tips Using Siri

Not sure why I didn’t post this a long time ago!  Do you have a website you visit often (like this one🤷🏻‍♀️) or maybe a store that you like to use their website not use an app? Do Not Update Apple Watch

Apple has pulled the Watch OS 5.1 update. It is “bricking”, which means the watch will not work at all. You may have an update pending, but I would let it sit there and not update. This is just a quick post after seeing this on Twitter this morning. For more information, you can search the internet to see what is being said about the update. Have a great day! Apple New Event

Apple’s new event is October 30th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Howard Gilman Opera House.  Makes me wonder what the connection is between new products they are expected to announce and the venue they are holding the event.  🤔 Here’s what’s been going around the rumor mills on what to expect at the next event.  New iPad Pro, new MacBook Air, and a new Mac Mini.  I’m not too familiar with the MacBook as I use an iPad Pro.  But if you’re looking for a new device, maybe a Christmas or Birthday gift, check out iMore’s link for … Continue reading Apple New Event

WAIT-Issue with iOS 12.0.1

If you haven’t already updated, WAIT! I’ve read several articles about a major issue in the newest iOS 12.0.1 update. The app that’s not working? The “phone app” is shutting down or not functioning 100%. You might be able to start a call, but not be able to use other functions, like hanging up the phone. Or you can open the phone app, but not be able to dial, choose a contact, or put the call on mute. iPhone 8 and older seem to be the versions being hit the most with this issue. As soon as I can find … Continue reading WAIT-Issue with iOS 12.0.1

Best Battery Quick Tip

Screen Time in iOS 12 Some have reported that they are seeing their battery drain faster now that they have updated to iOS 12 software. Have you noticed this? Here’s a tip I read about yesterday. Screen Time is a great feature for getting some perspective on how much time your or your kids are spending on “screens”. However, there are users who are reporting it’s draining their battery. Try this, go to Settings, Screen Time and turn it off. You’ll get a pop up asking if you really want to turn it off, click yes and that’s it. Now … Continue reading Best Battery Quick Tip

iPhone and iPad Charging Issues

Have you been having issues charging since you updated to iOS 12?  There will be a fix coming from Apple soon.  Not sure of a specific date, but I’ll keep you posted. Charging Issues There have been enough people with charging issues that Apple is working on a fix in the next iOS update.  The issues have varied and seem to be hit and miss with other users.  I haven’t experienced any of these issues myself. Some people reported they plugged the charging cable into the phone and wall, but the charging would not start until they tapped and “woke … Continue reading iPhone and iPad Charging Issues

Apple Watch 4 Unboxing

Morning all!  I’m trying to get back on track with posting.  Work, studying, prepping for exams have had to take more of my time lately.  But I’m off today and decided to get some writing done for my next few posts. Have you ever watched a video that shows the “unboxing” of a new device? I haven’t either!🤷🏻‍♀️  Well this one has changed my mind. What’s intriguing is it’s not all flashy, loud, and jumping all over the place.  Plus, I’m sure he just saved me a ton of time trying to open the box when I finally get my … Continue reading Apple Watch 4 Unboxing

Apple Watch 4

This is a screenshot from Apple’s website.  I’ve been reading and listening to podcasts trying to get some more information about the newest watch. What’s New and Old The new watch series 4 has a new feature called Fall Detection.  From the information available, a lot of testing went into this feature.  It’s going to be very beneficial, especially for those who live in areas of snow and ice.  Also for anyone who is prone to falling.  This could be someone who is older or someone who may have other medical conditions that make them prone to falling. The series … Continue reading Apple Watch 4

Today’s post is about the new iPhones.  One thing Apple does very well, is update their website!  Here is a link to their site for you to read and watch the videos.  Apple iPhones There is an option that you can do a side by side comparison of your current phone and a new iPhone. Where Have You Been?

This is not new to iOS 12.  It’s been there, but I just learned about it a couple weeks ago from a podcast I listen to about Apple devices. First things first, the information on your device is encrypted and can’t be read by Apple.  It is stored only on your device.  I’m sure there are many who won’t believe this to be true and there won’t be anything said here to try and convince you one way or the other.  If your location services is turned off, you should not have any history. How to Find Where You’ve Been … Continue reading Where Have You Been?

Messages and Photos Update

With every new update there will be changes in how you find something or where it “lives” now.  I just found this one last night and wanted to share it with you today.
